Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club Review
March 4, 2022
As Kathy and I drove up to Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club we could already see that this was going to be a nice course to play. At $75 per player, including the cart, we had higher expectations than other courses we have played.
The beauty of the course started showing itself before we ever began to play!
As we walked into the clubhouse we were greeted by a friendly hello and how can I help you. We got checked in and walked around to see how the clubhouse looked.
Although Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club is a public course, it has the feel of a private club. It is well kept, clean, and screams golf history everywhere.
Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club has everything you need to play golf.
The clubhouse has a quaint restaurant/bar area with an awesome staff serving you. After we loaded our cart, we headed to the driving range.
Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club has a nice, complete range. Plenty of flags to aim for, a great grass area to hit from, and a private teaching area. After splitting a large bucket of balls we headed to the chip and putt area. There was a separate area for both, and we had enough time to use them. Both areas were maintained like the course played – making warm up a good prep for the pending round.
After warming up, we made our way to the starter – Joe. He gave us a great briefing on the course and when we told him it was our first time playing Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club, he added in a little history as well.
Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club is a Greg Norman designed course. I have recently started paying closer attention to who the designer is for the courses we play. It is interesting to see how different designers layout a course, and how their specific style is created from one course to another.
I felt like Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club was a challenging course that didn’t penalize you for a good shot. It invited you to be aggressive and take chances, while offering options for a safe shot. Both Kathy and I have different skill levels and we both felt very comfortable playing Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club.
As we stepped up to the 1st tee we were joined with two other players – JB and Bob.
It was a very smart thing to do since the course was fully booked! If it had been just the two of us – we probably would have been waiting on the foursome ahead of us all day!
I always recommend pairing up with people if they are willing. It offers a great way to meet new people that have something in common with you.
The day was perfect – 65 degrees, sunny and no wind! There is no way I could have picked a better day to play golf!
JB has played Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club several times and was happy to offer course layout tips along the way. He even encouraged me to go for the green on a 310 yard – par 4.
AND HE WAS RIGHT!!
I landed it on the front edge and two putted for an easy birdie. He also kept us from driving into a hidden creek and gave a few other tips that kept us out of trouble or set us up for a better second shot.
Greg Norman really did a great job designing Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club. He used the natural beauty of the lakes and trees to produce something that would make a great walk even if you didn’t play golf. With large trees and blue skies it turned Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club into a work of art.
Meadowbrook Farms Golf Club is a must play if you are in the area. It was easy to get to and in a single turn off the road you feel as though you have left the city behind.
I would play this course again with out any hesitation. Giving it a birdie rating is easy.
