Our Love Affair with Golf!

Meadow Valley Golf Club Review

Kathy and I decided to play a second round of golf in less than a week. Well…… actually it went more like I said to Kathy that I need two rounds this week. We looked up courses near where we were staying in Shipshewana, Indiana and found Meadow Valley Golf Club.

We had just played four days prior and I played well. So you know that means I was probably due for a poor round of golf. However, both Kathy and I played well, although Kathy did say that she felt a little out of sync. But her score didn’t reflect it.

However, for me….I played a solid round of golf!

(But I have digressed!)

On our score card Meadow Valley Golf Club is a birdie course!

We truly felt every part of this course was beautiful. The course was in immaculate condition.

Even the brown sand was fluffy. When I saw it, I thought it was going to be hard and I was not looking forward to getting in any of it. But during the back nine I flopped a ball right in the sand – a fried egg looking landing. I was not happy. But, as soon as I stepped in the bunker the sand was soft and fluffy. I was not worried. I popped the ball on the green with sand flying right along with it. The ball landed softly and I putted in for par.

The course layout was awesome. It had long holes, short holes, and holes that had a sharp dog leg. There was some water and areas that would definitely put your ball out of play. With all of that, all you had to do was put the ball out there and you were not going to be in trouble.

Kathy mentioned that the forward tee boxes were in the best shape she has ever played on. Most of the time the forward tee boxes are the least cared for. But not at Meadow Valley Golf Club. You could tell that every part of the course and clubhouse mattered.

Meadow Valley Golf Club is a great course. If you want to play golf in Shipshewana, play Meadow Valley Golf Club. I played a couple of courses in the area and if I was going to play a course twice, it would be this one. They even have a great practice area with a big driving range. Kathy and I didn’t practice today. Maybe if we did we would have played even better.

When Kathy and I come back to this area we will definitely play Meadow Valley Golf Club!

It has a pleasant feel that I would like to experience again!
